I built this site as a throwaway to practice website development, which I was learning as a hobby. Over time, I realized that it was easier to access the thousands of family photos, videos, family trees, and other stuff I had stored on Onedrive through the website. It was also a convenient way to disseminate family news and to highlight the notable deeds of people we know. Eventually, I also realized that I could spout-off on whatever I wanted by using the site as a blog.

Regarding security ... I did required a password at one time but decided to remove it. The site is already restricted by only sharing the URL with those who might have an interest in its content -- friends and family. In addition, I don't put any anyone's personal or identifying information on the site or in any of its linked files.
