I built this site for practice while I was learning how to build websites (a hobby). I always intending to throw it away when I was proficient, but over time, it occurred to me that it was easier to use a website to access and navigate OneDrive than it was to use the more-technical OneDrive interface. (OneDrive is the respository I use for the thousands of family photos, videos, family trees, and more I've collected.) Once I had the site as a OneDrive portal, it was natural extension to use it for family news and to highlight the notable deeds of family members. At some point in this process, I also had the ephiphany that I could use the website as a blog to spout-off on things that interested, bothered, enraged or otherwise affected me.

This last purpose is both therapeudic and liberating. So much so, that my initial concern about the small number of visitors eventually evaporated. It just didn't matter; I truly don't care if anyone ever visits. Don't get me wrong -- this is not me being Thoreau-like even though I grew up on Walden Pond -- I'm happy to have visitors and even happier if they find some value here, it's just that I don't need visitors to feel good about the site.

One last note regarding security... I did required a password of visitors at one time, but I decided to remove it. The site is already restricted by only sharing its URL with those who might have an interest in its content, that is, friends and family. In addition, I don't put anyone's personal or identifying information on the site or in any of its linked files.

Send me an email: if you want to make a comment or suggestions, or if you want something added or removed. By the way, the pictures are me 50 years apart, and no, it's not the same tie.
